Altar Servers

As of January 1, 2010, the Blessed Teresa Altar Server group is composed of twenty-nine servers, and Delita Camilleri as scheduler.  Some of our servers are experienced and have been serving for many years, while others have just recently joined the group.  Our servers are both boys and girls and range in age from nine to approximately sixteen years old.   The simple requirements to participate in this liturgical ministry are that servers are in the fourth grade or higher, have received First Communion, and complete one hour of training.  This ministry receives guidance and oversight from Pastor Father Frank Schuster and the Liturgical Committee.

 Throughout the fall of 2009, Father Frank, Bob Phelan, and Delita trained twelve new servers.  The addition of two Masses this year requires that we recruit additional Altar Servers to our dedicated team.  You may download the Altar Server Guide.

This guide is used during training and as an on-going reference.  Altar Serving is a reverent and rewarding way to serve God and your Parish.   Also, serving at Mass is a perfect way to obtain high quality service hours for school, honor society, or scouts.  We welcome and encourage the youth and adults at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish to join this ministry.  To find out more, please contact Delita Camilleri.
